This italicized text tells you more about the storyline of the game. It does not directly impact gameplay. Some flavor text is too long to be displayed even in the Magnify Window, and you'll see a flavor text button appear in the bottom right corner of the card. If you hover over the Magnify Window, a tooltip displaying the complete information about the card will appear.
